MOOC courses are interactive additional educational materials for RTU students and anyone interested
Take any of our free courses at a time and place convenient for you.
Lectures can be paused, continued, and repeated at any time.
The courses are divided into several parts – theory, videos, and tests.
After successfully passing a course, you can receive a certificate with RTU credits or just broaden your knowledge and skills.
Currently, all courses and their materials are in English.

Learning platform
RTU students take MOOCs independently in a remote format on the www.mooc.rtu.lv platform.
All courses are available without prior knowledge.
There is no time limit for the courses.
Free choice (or Part C) study courses:
- Part C study courses are allocated from 2 to 6 credit points, depending on the study program. RTU students have the right to freely choose which study courses to study and can study them independently on the platform www.mooc.rtu.lv, with the prior approval of the director of the study program.
How to participate
To start taking any of the RTU MOOCs, register at www. mooc.rtu.lv.
For the course to be recognized as part of your study program, you must provide your full name and email address when registering.

- To complete a course, the student must successfully pass all available quizzes.
Quizzes:
- Auto-graded quizzes — quizzes that are automatically graded upon submission, such as multiple-choice questions.
- A quiz is passed with a score of 75 or more.
- he number of times a quiz can be answered can vary from 3 tries to just once, depending on the course. So be careful and attentive – always read test instructions.
After completing a course:
Course recognition:
- Upon completing a course, it can be recognized in your study program. After completing the course, you should contact your study advisor or study program director to take the on-site exam and receive credits for the course.
Course confirmation:
- Upon completion of the course, you can download a certificate of completion, which does not count as credits. This certificate can be a bonus for potential employers, showing that you are open to new skills and knowledge and increasing your competitiveness in today’s job market.

Any interested person who is not a student at RTU can take MOOCs independently and free of charge in a remote format on the platform www.mooc.rtu.lv.
All courses are available without prior knowledge.

How to participate
To start taking any of the RTU MOOCs, simply register at www.mooc.rtu.lv, by creating a login.
After completing the required information, a registration link will be sent to the email address you have provided, and you will need to confirm it. Then return to www.mooc.rtu.lv and log in with your newly created profile.

- If you wish to receive a certificate for completing a course that could be recognized at an educational institution, we need to verify your identity. To get a certificate, you must have completed a MOOC course on the platform and passed an on-site exam. The fee for taking the exam and receiving a certificate is 20 EUR. Payment will be made by bank transfer before the exam.
- The second option is to take a course for your personal growth without obtaining a certificate – RTU issues a confirmation of completing the course, which is not comparable to credits. Confirmation of a completed MOOC course can serve as proof for a potential employer of self-discipline and self-growth and increase competitiveness in today’s labor market.
